I am also going to evaluate the tool and help you make a decision if you are on the fence about paying for Writesonic.
How I Evaluated Writesonic
I have spent years using different software to optimize aspects of my business. When I write reviews for this blog, I usually spend hours researching tools that offer the best value to its users.
Then I do a deep dive into the tool to test its features and learn how to get the best results out of them. I then evaluate the tools against the criteria I have set for that specific type of tool and take notes to then write an unbiased review.
For this article, I listed the features offered by Writesonic, tested them one by one, and evaluated the following:
- Quality of the content generated
- Ease of use
- Pricing

Final Verdict:
For the price, Writesonic offers an amazing deal. It can help you take your content-creating process to the next level across the board.
I would like to mention that when you use Writesonic to create text content, you may need to edit it further. But as a starting point, it offers a great solution.
What is Writesonic?
Writesonic is an AI content writing software founded in 2020. Writesonic is one of the more popular AI content writers along with Jasper AI.
It is powered by Open AI’s GPT-3.5 and GPT4 32K in combination with their own proprietary technology.
You can create any type of content using Writesonic including ad copy, blog posts, website copy, marketing emails, etc.
Along with using OpenAI’s LLMs (Large Language Models), they also train their tool on the latest data across the internet to stay on top of trends.
They claim to be able to help you write factual articles quickly and rank number 1 on Google. So, for this review, we will put their claim to the test.
Writesonic Features & Products | In-depth Review
Writesonic offers similar features to many of the other AI content writers in the market. So, it might not blow your mind but there are quite a few things I liked about Writesonic.
So let’s get into the details and see what exactly Writesonic offers:
Writesonic AI Writer
The Writesonic AI writer allows you to create content for many different purposes.
One of my favorite things about Writesonic is the wide variety of tools it offers to create content. It offers custom tools to generate content for many different platforms.
Some of the main types of content you can create with Writesonic are:
- Articles and Blogs
- Ads and Marketing Content
- E-commerce
- Landing Pages
- Social Media
- Website Copy
It doesn’t just end here as it has even more tools under each of these options for different mediums and purposes.
For this review, we used Writesonic’s AI Article Writer 5.0 (their latest content writer) to create a blog post and Facebook Ad Copy.
Creating a Blog Post
This is what the AI Article Writer 5.0 dashboard looks like:
As you can see, the article writer lets you enter the following:
- Topic: The topic of the article you want to create.
- Reference Files: You can upload reference articles to base your article on.
- Keywords: Keywords you’d like to target in your article.
- Brand Voice: You can also select a brand voice to match your brand.
Entering the above information ensures that your article is closer to what you want. I decided to create the next article on my content calendar using Writesonic.
I started by providing a title, target keyword, instruction on writing styles, and some reference articles to create my article.
Here’s a snippet of how my article turned out:
Overall, I like the way the article turned out but some somethings can be improved.
What I Liked
- The content is detailed and doesn’t feel thin, this is what often happens with an AI tool like ChatGPT.
- The introduction uses the PAS framework and does a great job of capturing the reader’s attention.
- Short sentences are good for readability.
What I Didn’t Like
- Most of the paragraphs are pretty long. I have noticed that this is the case with most content writers. For better readability, you want to create short paragraphs.
- The article structure doesn’t provide great transitions. For example, after the introduction, it goes straight into the steps instead of some text introducing the steps.
Creating Facebook Ad Copy
Here’s what Writesonic’s Ad writer Dashboard looks like:
You need to provide the following:
- Product/service name
- Product/service description
- Occasion
- Promotion
- Brand Voice
I wanted to create ad copy for a “Pet Grooming Kit” for a Black Friday promotion. I opted for 3 outputs.
Here’s how they turned out:
I quite liked the way Writesonic structured the copy. It’s perfect for social media posts to grab viewers’ attention with the use of emojis and white space.
It also does a good of creating a Call to action. I was impressed by the quality of the ad copy Writesonic created.
Writesonic AI Writer Verdict:
After using Writesonic’s AI writer, I found that you can’t use the content as is for your blog.
Especially, with Google’s Helpful Content Update, I believe that the quality of the content is subpar.
But it gives you a great starting point to build upon.
Additionally, when it comes to creating Ad copy, I think Writesonic is much more impressive. I really like how it structured the text and emojis and the call to action.
I find the tool much better for marketing materials.
Writesonic SEO Checker
Writesonic’s SEO checker works very similarly to other SEO tools like SurferSEO.
Above, you can see Writesonic’s SEO Checker’s interface. I use SurferSEO quite a lot and the interface is very similar.
You can choose the type of content you want to create and provide the target keywords.
If you paste your content in the editor on the right, the tool suggests target keywords to help you get started.
I would suggest that you use a tool like Ahrefs or SEMRush to find your target keywords and then enter them in the tool.
To test Writesonic’s SEO Checker for this article, I tested it with this article (My Writesonic review).
Let’s compare how helpful the two tools are:
As you can see above, the keyword suggestions offered by SurferSEO and Writesonic look very different.
SurferSEO provides you with these keywords by analyzing the top-ranking articles on the SERP. You can also choose what pages you want to analyze.
Writesonic, on the other hand, seems to be offering very trivial suggestions. And all the terms seem to be Writesonic related and don’t seem very natural.
Writesonic SEO Checker Verdict
Writesonic’s SEO Checker tool is not something I would recommend if you want to optimize your articles to generate organic traffic on Google.
It can help you get some major keywords in but the tool does not seem to offer the amount of detail as SurferSEO.
You can think of it as a cheaper and weaker alternative as you don’t have to pay extra for it and can use “words” within your Writesonic account. But I wouldn’t expect amazing results from this.
Chatsonic (ChatGPT style interface)
Chatsonic is a chat interface similar to ChatGPT. It uses the latest GPT model and has access to the latest information on Google.
It is integrated with Google Search and allows you to chat with PDF documents, create AI images, etc.
I tried the Chatsonic interface to answer some basic questions.
In my honest opinion, I didn’t it to be much better than ChatGPT especially if you have the premium version of ChatGPT.
Botsonic (AI Chatbot)
Botsonic is a tool that allows you to create your own AI chatbot.
It is a GPT-based tool that lets you train a chatbot using your own data.
Botsonic offers you options to create a chatbot as a customer service agent or a personalized shopping assistant.
As you can see above, you can provide Botsonic with different data sources to train it.
You can upload files, spreadsheets, links to web pages or YouTube videos, sitemaps, and FAQs.
You can further customize the appearance of your chatbot as well as how it interacts with the user.
Once you are ready, you can embed your chatbot as Javascript to your website.
Photosonic (AI Image Generator)
Photosonic is an AI image generator that allows you to create amazing AI art just by entering prompts.
It’s extremely easy to use and can create some amazing images.
People from many different industries can use it to create pictures for different purposes.
It can be a huge money saver for many, especially if you pay for images elsewhere.
As a test, I wanted to create a Cyberpunk version of the Taj Mahal, and here’s how it turned out:
I was genuinely impressed. You can directly add these pictures to the editor if you’re already creating content.
Audiosonic
Audiosonic is Writesonic’s text-to-speech converter.
It’s extremely easy to use. You can just paste your text into the tool and it will convert it into audio within minutes!
You can also choose from many different voices. I was very impressed with how it turned out.
It almost sounds like a real person reading some text and does a great job of enunciating punctuations.
Here’s a sample of the audio. You can be the judge yourself:

Who is Writesonic Best For?
Writesonic offers a wide range of tools which is attractive for a large customer base, but understanding its strengths is important to maximizing its potential.
If you’re in the business of creating social media posts, product descriptions, or optimizing your content creation process, Writesonic has a lot to offer.
However, it’s important to note that while the platform provides a wide range of functionalities, its forte lies in short-form content.
I particularly liked its effectiveness in generating marketing copy, SEM Copy, product descriptions, and emails.
It serves as an excellent starting point for various content needs.
So, if you’re looking for assistance with your content generation process, Writesonic is a great tool but it does lack in certain departments.
You could be a blogger, marketer, e-commerce seller on Amazon or Etsy, or have a corporate job, you could probably benefit from Writesonic.
Writesonic Alternatives
Writesonic vs Conch AI
Conch AI is another AI content writing tool that focuses on creating AI content detector passable content.
The features offered by Conch AI are not as versatile as Writesonic but it does offer some great tools to improve your content.
Read our in-depth review of Conch AI.
Writesonic vs Smodin AI
Smodin AI is a multi-language content writing tool.
Writesonic offers a much more comprehensive set of tools to help with content creation but Smodin targets students.
I like how Smodin can help you write content as well as help students with their homework.
Read our full review of Smodin.
Final Thoughts
Writesonic is a versatile content creation tool that can make your life a lot easier if you are someone who finds themselves writing often.
For the price, it offers an amazing set of tools to help enhance your entire content-generation process.
However, I do believe that when it comes to long-form content it can be improved. Although, from my experience with other content writing tools, it is at par with most.
But if you want to create content that Google loves, you would have to edit it heavily.
I would recommend Writesonic to anyone who has to create a ton of content but I would also advise them to further improve the generated content.
